Tired of the usual ski resorts?

Many of you will  be starting to think about next year’s skiing holiday already and if you’re tired of the same old ski resorts then why not try somewhere different? Montgenevre is a traditional French ski resort on the Italian border. The resort itself only has 65km of piste but it’s linked to the milky way ski area with a total of 400km of pistes, so plenty to satisfy even your most experienced skiers, and with an altitude of 1860m at resort level, rising to 2700m at the highest point, snow is pretty much guaranteed. 

Being a lesser known resort has lots of advantages, no queues, cheaper lift passes, deserted slopes and hardly any Brits! For those of you that want to go out partying every night it’s probably not the place to go but if you want great skiing without the crowds in a friendly resort then you should really give it a go.

We went with Crystal and stayed at the Chalet Vannoir, a lovely catered chalet about 5 minutes walk from the slopes and the bars.
