Friday poll – will the current rate of the Euro change your ski holiday habits this year?

This week we’re asking whether you are going to change your ski holiday habits because of the value of the pound against the Euro. The pound has continued to fall, sliding to its lowest level against the euro for more than five months, meaning that yet again this years ski holiday in the usual destinations like France or Italy will be an expensive trip.

There is currently much debate about making helmets compulsory for skiiers. Austria has now made it compulsory for all under 16′s to wear helmets and in Italy it’s compulsory for under 14′s. The death of Natasha Richardson last season has bought the issue closer to home for us older folk so we thought we’d ask whether you’d wear a helmet on your next ski holiday. Oh and if you’re looking to buy one then probably the best place is Snow and Rock.

Friday poll! Should female ski jumpers be allowed to compete at the Winter Olympics?

Women ski jumpers believe their battle to be included in the Vancouver Winter Olympics played a factor in the International Olympic Committee’s decision on Thursday to add women’s boxing to the 2012 London Summer Games.

Chris Rudge, chief executive officer with the Canadian Olympic Committee, said including women’s boxing shows the IOC’s commitment to gender equality in sport. But he doubted it would open the door for the female jumpers to compete at the Vancouver Games.
