Apple to launch new ski gadget – iski perhaps

If, like me, you’re addicted to the Nike+ widget that hooks into your ipod nano you’ll definitely be the sort of person keen on Apples touted new gadget. This would be a gadget that would be able to work out the airtime, speed and velocity of a user.  Apple have put in a new patent for a gadget such as this, reports Appleinsider. No doubt those of a competitive nature would be interested in recording the height and speed of jumps and comparing them with their friends.

This gadget could well transfer into other sports such as mountain biking creating an even bigger market. A gadget such as this would need to work with a GPS enabled device, and therefore will be more likely seen as a plugin for the iphone rather than ipod.
